We anticipate an extraordinary weekend and hope you'll plan to join us for quite a long time. Remember, your ticket is good for the whole weekend, so be sure to come both days.

General information

  • The event is held rain or shine. 

  • Be prepared for the weather. Wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.

  • There are several indoor and outdoor venues for activities and events.  

  • Look out for the LZ Maryland Tram to help you get from some the parking lots to the each of the venues.

  • Guests will find plenty of food / beverage stands and seating through out the site.

  • Guests with mobility issues should visit review the Icon Accessibility Plan (545.2 KB) .

Event policy regarding petitions, politicians and protestors

The focus on the event should be, at all times, the Vietnam veteran. In the spirit of thanking and welcoming home our vets, any activities or demonstrations taking away from this purpose will not be tolerated.

As the event organizers and renters of the fairgrounds (private property), MPT reserves the right to remove ANY group or persons causing disruptions.

Groups/persons leafleting or bringing static displays, not invited by MPT event organizers, or groups/persons campaigning for any politician or political contest will be asked to leave the site.

Bag check

S.A.F.E. Management will be conducting bag check at each of the four fairgrounds entrances. To ensure a fast entry, guests should review the following lists of items that are or aren't allowed at LZ Maryland. Please be ready for inspection bags and contents of bulky pockets.

Guests refusing bag check will not be permitted onto the fairgrounds.

Okay to bring...

  • camping/tailgate chairs

  • picnic blankets

  • small bags (subject to bag check)

  • sunscreen, hat, sunglasses

  • umbrellas

  • strollers/wagons

Not permitted...

  • weapons (includes but not limited to firearms, knives, swords, pepper spray, mace)

  • alcoholic beverages

  • glass bottles/containers

  • bicycles

  • tents

  • coolers

  • selfie sticks

  • drones

  • hoverboards

If any of the above items are found during bag check, you'll have the opportunity to return them to your car or they will become property of the Maryland State Fairgrounds. Items may not be left at entrance gates for pick-up later.  If weapons are discovered during bag check, the police will be alerted.

Animals at LZ Maryland

Sorry, pets are not allowed at LZ Maryland.

Service animals and emotional support animals are welcome to accompany their handlers to LZ Maryland, but in accordance with ADA policy, service animals must be controlled by their handlers.

Admission

Admission is free for veterans, active duty military, gold star families and children 12 and under.  All other guests pay only a $5 entry fee for the entire weekend.  

  • Advance tickets - Tickets are good for both days of the event and can be found here.  Guests should be sure to print out one confirmation per attendee.  You may also show your confirmation on your phone at the gate.

  • Tickets at the door - Four ticket booths will be open for ticket sales at entry gates. ON-SITE TICKETS ARE CASH ONLY. Entrance gates are located at Timonium Road, York Road/North gate, the Light Rail, and the Midway parking lot. Veterans, be sure to look for the express line for veteran-only free entrance.

  • In and Out - Guests are permitted to re-enter the fairgrounds at any time. Be sure to get a hand stamp as you exit to speed your re-entry. Please retain your ticket confirmation emails and/or ticket stubs for re-entry on Sunday.
